The Stupid Jar has arrived Jan 18. 2011

Well its finally here :/ not sure exactly how I feel about it thus far...So let me explain the story behind the jar. So my roommate Carlye hates whenever she hears me talk negatively about myself (I am trying to work on it...hitting the gym everyday and trying to think positively about myself!) And so she got fed up with always saying you are stupid and she wanted to actually do something about it-so she went down to Paint the Town and made the Stupid Jar. So the rules are that every time someone says or does something stupid near it one must pay the 25Cents fee. So basically the moral of the story is for the next little bit until i learn my lesson about thinking positively about myself...either I am going to become super broke or be really quiet!

So Eric came to visit Carlye hang out and once I got done with classes and work I got back and they were still here so I got a chance to chill with them :) While Carlye was doing something on her computer I played Eric in a game of jenga-ok so we had been playing for like ten minutes before we realized that we were playing wrong (ha yes we were playing Jenga wrong lol) we forgot to replace the pieces once we pulled them out..haha we were just placing them on the floor next to us lol (yup we are dorks)...after being made fun of Eric lost so we had to play again so he could win (only fair right lol) well after that we took pictures on carlye's webcam (its her favorite past time lol) Eric and Carlye did the monkey faces- and i thought carlye and i were going for smiles till she turned and stuck her tongue out on me haha oh well it was still fun :)

Well actually it was more like girls night in lol..So i took two of my friends home with me to help house sit while my mom was over in good old Utah for my big bros birthday! With MLK day on monday we got an extra day off which meant more sleeping in and relaxing which is just what the doctor ordered :) Carlye is feeling much better after a weekend sleeping in a real bed (dorm beds just aren't good)!

We spent the weekend chilling in parkland and eating way too much junk food (dang hostess store) and watching movies (my neighbor buys most every movie that comes out so we hit him up for movies :D)

Saturday consisted of sleeping in-oh man does it feel nice to not wake up till 10 :D (granted we didn't go to bed till like 2 because we were watching the Lovely Bones which is an awesome movie) but hey sleeping in and then lounging around is fine by me! We hit up my old high school for their winter production (they did MASH) it was nice to see all my old teachers and visit with good friends! We then went to the mall to do what girls do best lol-shop! It was awesome! Took Electra to BJ's so she could experience hand crafted root beer and cream soda-we had a contest of who could drink more..she won-she ended up hitting 4 and I only made it to 3 :/ but hey that is still a lot lol! (and man was the bathroom calling our names on the way home-thank heavens for two bathrooms lol)

We started watching The Back Up Plan and then Natasha came over and we decided to go hit up Coldstone for dessert-ya probably not the smartest idea but I got a gift card to there and I never use them and since I had three other mouths I figured they could help me out :)

We came back and painted our nails as we watched The Craigslist Killer (David had recorded it for me!) that was intense-well actually that's a lie..I thought it would be better but I guess if they showed ALL the girls it would become the length of a Lord of the Rings film :p

We hit the sheets and had another amazing night of sleep-i personally loved sleeping in my mom's huge bed (definitely better than my normal twin size at the dorm lol) Sunday morning consisted of us sleeping lol and then Electra and I got ready for church (which was at 1) and Carlye started on her Calculus homework *yuck*. Church was good and it was nice to see everyone (its been about a month) WOW how the little kids grow in just a month!

Came back home and made Dinosaur nuggets and tater tots for lunch (yup you heard right and i know you're jealous :p) We ate that as we watched the Social Network-kinda of boring for me..seemed like it dragged on a bit and it totally made Mark Z. look like a jerk :0

Sunday night was awesome...we hit up the Marini's for dinner (thanks again Joe & Ember for the lasagna and delicious rolls) and played the wii for a bit and wrestled...which was hilarious :) Then we hit up the Quigley's for some air hockey and pool and then we finished off with dessert (shawna made her awesome oreo brownies- i LOVE those!!) Came home sunday night totally exhausted haha Carlye and I went to bed and Electra stayed up and watched the Other Boleyn Girl-she said it was good so I guess I am going to have to watch it another time lol :)

Monday was our day off so that meant another day to sleep in! My mom flew back in to washington and got dropped off around 11 as we were just getting up and lounging around :) We started packing up our things and headed back to UW-after we got back we hit up Safeway and got groceries (thank you Dad and Cricket for the Safeway gift card-it was much appreciated!)

Elder Schotts 6 month mark Jan 14th 2011

Today marks Elder Schott's 6th month of serving the Lord!!! Seems just like yesterday when he left (I hope that feeling lasts :D). Elder Schott I am so proud of you! I love getting your letters each week (highlight of my week!) and seeing how you are growing-your testimony just shines through them..I loved your quote in my last letter "it doesn't matter what he said we know the Book of Mormon is true and thats that!'' You are such a great example to me and I love you so much (for so many reasons) but one in particular is your challenge to me to keep up our reading each night while you are gone....23 more days and we will have finished the Book of Mormon-you are such a great support to me even if you are far away and I thank you for that!

Like you say at the end of each letter "Study hard and remember to stay strong :D''...I'll see you in 18 months, I love you Elder Schott!

22 years ago my mommie gave birth to my BIG bro at 7:11 (no not the place the time!) I just wanted to say HAPPY BIRTHDAY BRANDON! I can't believe you are 22-that's like insane-(I still remember following you around when we lived in Sandy with my barbie doll as you and your friends played with G.I. Joe :p)....anywho! I can't believe what you have completed in your lifetime already-you surprised the whole family at your graduation being in the top 10% in math (dad was super proud & my jaw dropped lol) and then you served the Lord for 2 yrs in Mexico (awesome accomplishment & I LOVED writing you each week-you definitely helped me through some rough times, so thanks for always writing me back ;) ) And now you are in the Academy :) I hope you have an incredible birthday (wish I was there to celebrate it with you but just know i'm wishing you the best and that I LOVE YOU)-your little sis

So Jaylen and Adriana tied the knot (yay them) those two are definitely made for one another! The decorations were adorable-their colors were green & purple (did you know they make purple sixlets??? cuz I didn't but now i do :D) These pictures are just of the reception details and the happy couple. What "Kendahl" means...January 8, 2011

Institute Luau Jan. 7. 2011

So friday night we had the opening social for the Institute. It was a luau :) Started out with Electra and Tessa coming over so we could get ready-definitely had to have a flower in my hair (it fit the occasion ;p) Then we headed over to the institute and had dinner (yummy island food!) then Bryndan played the uke for us (one of his many instruments he plays). We then had a performance of the Haka and a Tahitian dance and then we actually got to learn the dances...the boys went downstairs and the girls stayed in the gym. We learned the dances then the boys came upstairs and we performed them for each other-it was awesome! The picture with Dean and I was taken after the dance...he was like "can I have a picture with "the girls"?" he is a dork but we love him!

They had a robosurf (kinda like a bull but a surf board) which i just had to do ( i have never surfed before so it was awesome!) I have the COOLEST institute teacher ever-Bro Knowles hopped on the robosurf and showed us all his sweet skills! Steven, Tessa, and I chilled out by the "island" for a bit lol and we even had a limbo contest..and then a hula hoop-ya i can hula hoop-can you? ;)

Nathaniel's 20th Birthday January 6, 2011

 

So today is Nate's 20th birthday, it sucks to not have him here to celebrate it with him but he is out serving the Lord so that's an awesome way to spend his birthday! So in honor of his birthday I wanted to do something that reminded me of him and with no Sonic around here to grab a green apple soda (his favorite) I went for his second favorite drink -Mexican coke! I spotted it in the cafeteria when we went down for dinner and so I grabbed one :)

Well since its his 20th birthday I decided I'd blog about the 20 things I love about him (in no particular order) :D

1. I love how although he hates dances and getting dressed up he took me to not only my last LDS prom but my senior prom as well, even though he only knew a few people (one of his best friends steven was there and thats who is in the picture with him..steven is serving his mission in Guatemala!) and had to dress up in a tux (thanks babe it meant a lot to me!)

2. I love how high you value family-you are amazing with your siblings and so respectful and obedient to your parents. And as an added note I love how much you love and care for my niece and nephew-you held them with such care and played with my rambunctious nephew all day and never got sick of it!

3. I love how you planned awesome dates :D I remember our first date (this time around ;]) of the movie and then going to get cold stone and walking around and just talking-it was an incredible night :)

4. I love how you like to cuddle. You being so tall and me so small makes for the perfect pair :) I love sitting on the couch wrapped in your arms or getting hugs ( i miss my personal back popper :/ ) I can't wait till you come back and we can cuddle once again-we got a lot of movies to catch up on ;)

5. I love your focus on education. You left on your mission with a completed AA degree in Engineering-You GO BABY! You know what you want and you figured out the way to accomplish it. You have the smarts and the determination to accomplish anything!

6. I love your sarcasm- ya I know I can't believe I'm admitting this but honestly your sense of humor is amazing! It keeps me on my toes and makes me smile and laugh constantly!

7. I love your willingness-you are always there to help out! My mom misses your helping hands at ward functions! I love how you always offered to help out in any way possible!

8. I love your driving-gives me something to tease you about :) You are adorable driving to places before you go for real to make sure you get there safely and I love being your passenger and navigator :)

9. I love how you know what to say-each week in my letters you always have the right words to help bring a smile to my face and comfort me even though you are far away!

10. I love your support- my senior year you came to all my functions (soccer, daffodil selection, drama performances, basketball games, etc)...even when you had homework and were studying for a midterm you made it to my soccer game and ALWAYS stayed after to tell me how great of a job I did no matter what the scoreboard read.

11. I love how spiritual you are- I remember in sunday school how you always knew the answers and it made all of the rest of us students jealous (even myself :p) and now you are out serving the Lord and spreading the gospel (putting your knowledge definitely to great use!) You have a firm testimony of this Church and I am so proud of you for being worthy to serve for two years!

12. I love how I got you to start taking photos of yourself-yup I corrupted you hehe...You are HOT yes I said it HOT and I love looking at you haha (yup i stare lol) and I am so glad I got you to take photos because now that you are gone I have photos of you :)

13. I love how you love playing basketball! You have gotten actually skilled at it but I am sure I can still kick your butt ;)

14. I love the way you make me feel-no matter what I look like -glasses, lack of sleep, or anyday I am having a rough day you always tell me how beautiful I am and how much you adore me and that means the world to me!

15. I love your eyes. you are my brown eyed boy! I could just stare at your eyes forever-so rich and they bring such warmth :)

16. I love how you didn't let dating me get in your way of your friendships with your boys. You balanced your time perfectly so that you could have your bromance ;) and not neglect me :)

17. I love your charm- I have many saved texts, pieces of writing, and memories from when you were my MR. CHARMING. You made up poems each wednesday after basketball and I LOVED waking up on thursday mornings to that :)

18. I love at age 18 you gave our love a second chance! You got up the courage to ask me out again and I have fallen for you babe!

19. I love that your so dedicated to the Lord to leave your family for two years that you may help other families be together for eternity :)

20. I LOVE you Nathaniel, I am so grateful that you were brought to this earth and I honestly believe that we were meant to be together, you bring such happiness to my life, I wake up each day with a smile because I know you love me even though you are far away. I am so proud of you in all that you have accomplished and can't wait till you return with honor to see what is in store next for you :)

Happy New Year! Jan 1, 2011

WOW is it weird to write 2011!!! Well I brought in the new year with my family-definitely weird not spending my evening with Nate and getting my new years kiss but family is an awesome second! We started out the night playing five crowns (awesome card game!) then we popped the bubbly (sparkling cider of course) and toasted to a new year and my bro left for a party with his friends. We then switched to the wii and played a few rounds of Just Dance 2! that game is AMAZING i love it! then we ate ice cream and played Dr. Mario on the wii :) Teaching my mom how to play it was hilarious-my sister tried...hard but it was a lost cause lol. Then my mom and i stayed up and watched the New Years countdown (utah style-at the salt palace). We waited till midnight and then watched some fireworks and then crashed (we were exhausted!!!) We had to get up at six to head to the airport-yup an early flight back to good old washington-man is it cold in the mornings-i was freezing!!! But we made it to Washington safely :)

My sister and I got our hair cuts at Great Clips today :) I have always wanted a "bob" but have never been daring enough to do it...until today..I told the lady just do it-i told her not to ask me "are you sure" because I would say no don't do it haha...well so far I love it and its really easy to do and it actually stays that way the whole day (probably my most favorite thing!)

So basically I have said this before and I will keep saying it- Brooklyn is adorable and she adds to my excitement of being an aunt! I haven't seen her in about four months and WOW has she grown! She is starting to crawl and has the CUTEST giggle ever! She is starting to copy when you make faces at her which is how i got this picture :) I love that little girl!
